This week I wanted to see if I could take a picture with normal lighting and photoshop it to make it look like it was a contrast of light and dark. This is one of the pictures I took last week for my series. I'm thinking about doing black and white portraits, or layered portraits with action, setting, and close up pictures to form photo stories.
The main idea of my concentration series is domestic abuse against women. I know women who have survived abuse, and I know it could happen to me. My series follows the cycle of domestic violence. In my series, I explored the feelings and thoughts of women who are abused, fighting to survive, and learning to escape.

Week 1
This week I researched photography techniques. Some helpful websites I found are shown below. These websites will help me experiment with various techniques so that I can find which techniques I like best for whichever series I end of choosing. I also looked through my old picutres to see if anything I already have will work for my series, and I found some pictures that I could use as background images. I chose a portrait picutre, and played with these background images to see if they could work well for my series.

These are the pictures I took last week for my concentration series. I was playing around with the settings of my camera in an attempt to find the right settings for taking pictures at night. I also took pictures of settings, and a close up picture. The first three pictures were taken on the 10th of February, and the last two were taken on the 18th of February.
